Here are some common questions we regularly answer over the phone. As we seldom answer calls between 2pm and 9.30pm, these should help clear some doubts so we can focus on your child's needs when we do talk on the phone!
Do you offer regular classes?
Yes, but availability is limited! Book a Discovery Call and Teacher Mel will be able to advise on suitability for our online one-to-one sessions. All regular sessions are conducted via Zoom with one of our teachers who has at least 5 years of teaching experience under their belt. Teacher Mel does not conduct regular classes.
How are online sessions conducted?
All sessions are one-to-one via Zoom. Your child will receive personalised coaching tailored to their current level and goals. A Zoom link will be sent to you after booking.
Is homework assigned?
For our online sessions in their current format, no homework is assigned. Each session is self-contained and focused on guided practice during the lesson itself.
Are there physical classes available?
No, but you can look out for our ad-hoc workshops during school holidays. These are announced once a year, typically during the June holidays.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No deposit is required. Payment is made at the time of booking.
What are your session rates?
Private Writing Session: $120 per 45-minute session (usual price $148). A 4-session package is available at $480, valid for 3 months.
Written Feedback & Marking: $45 for marking only, or $105 for marking with a 30-minute Zoom walkthrough. Marked work is returned within 3 working days (Monday to Friday).
Discovery Call: Complimentary, 15 minutes via phone or WhatsApp.
What levels and exams do you cover?
Our sessions focus on English writing — composition, creative writing, and situational writing. This is suitable for primary school students preparing for PSLE. We are also able to teach foreign students sitting for AEIS or school entry tests in Singapore. Teacher Mel will assess suitability during the Discovery Call.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation and rescheduling are available in accordance with our booking policy. For Written Feedback & Marking, no refunds once marking has begun. Zoom calls for the marking service must be booked within 10 days from the submission date.
